We've just completed the first 9 weeks in school and I'm proud to say that all three girls met their class goals of AR points. You have no idea what stress this can be unless you have children that have to do this as well. Basically, you earn Accelerated Reader points when you read a book, then take a comprehension test on the book. You earn points based on the reading level of the book, and the amount of questions answered correctly. Leah's class goal is 15 points per 9 weeks, Molly's is 25 points, and Ashlyn's is 30. Leah finished a few weeks ago and has been slowly reading through another book, waiting for the new 9 weeks to take her test, while Ashlyn and Molly were burning the midnight oil to finish their last books to meet their requirements. Molly was so excited, because her entire 6th grade class met their goal and had acquired the most points out of all the classes in that grade. GO MOLLY!!! Report cards are due to come out this Friday, so we'll see what happens....
